On Sunday (26th January), the hosts New Zealand will face the visiting side India in the second game of the New Zealand vs India 2020 five-match T20I series at Eden Park (Auckland).

They also played the opening match of this series at this venue last Friday (24th January). India clinched the series-leading victory (1-0) by six wickets after successfully chasing their highest T20I target (204/4 in 19 overs) at the overseas venues.

As a wicketkeeper-batsman, KL Rahul has hugely impressed the Indian team management. His dual role provides more options to the team. The right-handed batsman is currently in the top form as he has registered six 40-plus scores, including five half-centuries, in last seven T20Is.

Virat Kohli (C):

Indian captain Virat Kohli is one of the most consistent batsmen, and he has maintained this image for a long time in every format. In the last T20I, Kohli (45 runs) played an important role in India’s highest successful T20I chase outside India.

The 25-year-old Shreyas Iyer has already impressed with his consistent batting performances. But in the last T20I, when the visitors were struggling at chasing, he played the anchor role and incredibly guided the team to the victory.

Manish Pandey:

As a middle-order batsman, Manish Pandey seems confident enough. Though he scored 14* off 12 balls in the last game, he put a crucial 62 runs partnership with Shreyas Iyer for the unbroken fifth wicket and that partnership secured their comfortable victory.

Shivam Dube:

In the first game of this series, the new all-rounder Shivam Dube broke the dangerous-looking opening partnership of New Zealand (1/24) and scored 13 runs. He needs to develop consistency to maintain stability in this team.

Jasprit Bumrah:

The Indian cricket fans were scared during the last game when the right-arm pacer Jasprit Bumrah picked an ankle injury. However, it was not so serious as he completed his over properly. Bumrah is likely to play on Sunday while his bowling figures in the last match were 4-0-31-1.

Navdeep Saini:
