It looks like, WWE has finally decided to give attention to the Women’s Tag Team Championships and the title-holders after receiving various complaints about the booking. The current champions have been able to capture TV time and a long title run creating an all-time record.

As noted on WWE on FOX social media account, the Kabuki Warriors – Asuka and Kairi Sane are the longest reigning WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. They have rarely defended the titles in recent times, but they have been featured on the weekly programming of Monday Night Raw while carrying the belts.

They have held the titles for more than 121 days breaking the record of the previous one set by the IIconics – Peyton Royce and Billie Kay.

We should note in this context that the former champs, the team of Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross have also played a big role while making these titles look prestigious during the summer of 2019. Currently, these two from SmackDown roster are the new number one contenders for the women’s tag team championships which should set up a feud and title matches in due course.

How Roman Reigns Vs. The Fiend Will End At WWE WrestleMania 36?

Until that happens, Asuka and Kairi Sane will continue to extend their title reign to a longer extend. As of now, Asuka has demanded a rematch over the WWE Raw Women’s Championship against Becky Lynch. It was accepted, right away as this match is set to happen on the upcoming episode of WWE RAW. So the Empress of Tomorrow will receive another shot to become Asuka 2 Belts.

As for the women’s Tag Team Championships, these belts were introduced in early 2019 where Vince McMahon was dressed as Santa Clause while confirming the belts will be inaugurated. But the reality was that McMahon was not sure at all on what to do with these belts in the first place. He was under a lot of pressure and unveiled them without thinking much, as per Tom Colohue,

“Vince didn’t want women’s tag titles. He was under a lot of pressure so he brought them in early without thinking much about it. There was no plan. We still don’t know if there’s any plan.”

This is fans and the likes WWE superstars Bayley has complained that WWE never gave proper opportunities to these titles. But on the other hand, they did receive a chance to steal the show during TLC 2019 main event only to squander it and leaving a bad example.
