Super Showdown and the very next episode of Smackdown could change Wrestlemania 36 complexion, in a big way. The speculated main event match between Roman Reigns and The Fiend Bray Wyatt is said to be off the card following the confirmation of John Cena on the ‘show of shows.’
He is now set to feature in a match much bigger than expected and it could even be the last one of the Wrestlemania match card.

According to the latest reports of The Dirty Sheets, John Cena vs. Elias is not happening at Wrestlemania 36. In fact, it was never the plan for the biggest show, anyway killing down the rumors of an ‘underwhelming’ match.
It was added that he will be a major part of the Road to Wrestlemania who could end up facing either Goldberg or “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt on April 6th, as of this writing.

This does depend on the outcome of the Super Showdown 2020 main event where Goldberg challenges The Fiend for the Universal Championship, tonight. If Goldberg wins the title for the second time in his career then he would be booked either John Cena or Roman Reigns at the showcase of immortals.
Even if he does not win the match, there’s a possibility that WWE would book him in a dream match against Cena making the speculations true.

As of now, John Cena is scheduled to make his return on this week’s Smackdown at the TD Garden Arena in Boston, Massachusetts. He will be appearing to let know his Wrestlemania plans to the world.
It’s expected to begin with the Elimination Chamber as he’d announce his entry into the gimmick match set to happen on March 8th. This would determine the number one contender for the Universal Championship.
At present, Roman Reigns is the favorite name to win the Elimination Chamber match to earn the right to face the Universal Champion at Wrestlemania. But who knows whether WWE kept a twist in the tale in the form of John Cena.

So, we can only wonder whether the Cenation Leader returns to the main event scene upon return, right away.
