Shane McMahon had his last entrance on SmackDown, yesterday night as he suffered a huge loss at the hands of Kevin Owens. As per the stipulation of the match, his WWE career has come to an end. A briefcase containing the documents was hanging on the ladder to begin the match. Whoever would unlock the briefcase will become the winner and send his opponent out of the company.
Shane McMahon pulled off an incredible stunt by putting Kevin Owens through the SmackDown announce table. Owens came back hitting an incredible Frog Splash on top of a ladder. Shane overcame the effect and hit the Coast to Coast on Owens. As he was climbing the ladder, Owens dropped him from behind with a Pop-Up Powerbomb on a ladder and unhooked the briefcase. He picked up the win to bid Shane McMahon goodbye from SmackDown.
Stakes have become even higher with a bigger announcement that arrived last week. Two of the marquee names of SmackDown decided to put their careers on the line to hype up the show. The saga between Kevin Owens and Shane McMahon has become more personal than ever since Summerslam of this year. Owens won the match but McMahon continued throwing curveballs towards him that led birth to a legal war.
Hence, Kevin Owens proposed this ladder match where all the legal documents were hanging in balance. The stipulation was that whoever loses the contest will have to give up his WWE career. “As a last resort, Owens threatened Shane-O-Mac with a massive lawsuit and set out to hit him where it hurts most: the wallet. Presented with the possibility of an ongoing court battle, KO offered McMahon an alternative settlement for their dispute. The rivals agreed to put their careers on the line in a Ladder Match on the FOX Friday Night SmackDown premiere with the loser fired from WWE. Will Owens get the chance to hand “The Best in the World” his walking papers, or will McMahon get rid of his most insubordinate employee once and for all?”
