Kurt Angle is no more with the WWE following the budget cut releases the company had back in April. He did return to play the role of a referee in NXT in a match with Matt Riddle and Timothy Thatcher, but that wasn’t considered to be a full-time return. He himself isn’t interested to come back to the WWE, at this point and there’s a big reason behind this.
While speaking to Sports Illustrated, Kurt Angle stated that he started his own business that has started to pick up in recent times. He needed to look after the trade and while being in the WWE, he couldn’t focus on the venture, fully. But the sudden WWE release made things easier for him.
“I’m working on my business, and I’ve been doing a lot of rehab on my body, trying to get myself back to where I’m able to live a healthy lifestyle. I’d been so banged up—my neck, my back, and my neck—but I’m making improvements. If I get to the point where I feel I can do it, then I’ll probably do it. But right now, I have to focus on my body.”
The business that Kurt Angle operates is named Physically Fit Nutrition which is getting expanded, as per his claim. His #1 seller is a Chxn Snx and they are pretty delicious. On a personal note, the Olympic Gold Medallist is very happy to get that opportunity and hence considered his WWE release to be a blessing in disguise.
“It was almost a blessing in disguise that WWE released me. The business started picking up orders, and we’re at a point where I really need to be here.”
Kurt Angle might make some one-off appearances in WWE, every now and then, but it seems he is totally done with his full-time stint. The last time he stepped into the ring in WWE was at WrestleMania 35 against King Baron Corbin. Following that loss in his retirement match, Kurt Angle transformed in a producer’s role for sometimes before getting fired by the WWE.
Kurt Angle was also offered the role to become Matt Riddle’s manager while he’s making his debut on SmackDown, sooner. Although Angle would have loved to play the role, he didn’t take the opportunity for “different reasons” which should be his own business. He was only happy to introduce The Original Bro to the mainstay WWE fans.
