John Morrison is on a roll on SmackDown ever since coming back to the WWE in the very first week of 2020. It was a fresh start for the former Intercontinental Champion who came back to the company for almost a decade.
To date, the charismatic superstar has been rightly used who has also helped The Miz to get back his heel mojo after he had a rough phase for most of 2019.
Slice Wrestling reported that the future should be bright for John Morrison now that he is on a winning course. Back in his first two matches on TV, he defeated Big E and Kofi Kingston, consecutively.
Plus, he also defeated three other teams alongside The Miz in a huge fatal-4-way contest on this week’s SmackDown. The momentum is likely to continue for him until he comes to a collision course with a tag partner.
As per the source, John Morrison is back with his comeback campaign which is going great, at this point. He and The Miz have also become the new number one contenders for the SmackDown tag team champions to receive a title shot at WWE Super ShowDown. But there will be a time when Morrison and Miz will start a rivalry of their own which could probably turn Morrison back to a babyface.
Here’s more from the source,
“WWE wants to re-introduce Morrison back into the WWE Universe and to a newer generation of WWE fans.
Intercontinental Championship opportunities are also being discussed for Morrison after WrestleMania 36.
The future is bright for John Morrison and we are excited that WWE is giving this deserving superstar great opportunities.”
On a related note, WWE will continue to use the partnership of John Morrison and The Miz on TV. WWE filmed new content with SmackDown Superstars The Miz and John Morrison this past week in Texas which might be used for a new documentary regarding Morrison.
Confirmation is also available at this point that the duo will be bringing back their “Dirt Sheet” segment, next week on SmackDown. This should help them to continue the feud with SmackDown Tag Team Champions Kofi Kingston and Big E of The New Day.
