It will be a true homecoming for the Cenation Leader as he appears in front of the WWE Universe in his hometown of Boston, Massachusetts at the TD Garden Arena. It’s almost certain that John Cena will be there on the show in order to start buildup for a match that would culminate in a match at WrestleMania 36 in Tampa where he currently resides.
Spoilers are now available letting us know about the potential plans on John Cena around Wrestlemania. According to The Dirty Sheets, plans for John Cena vs. Lars Sullivan has been canceled for two years in a row now. It was last year that WWE officials were trying to do a match between these two at WrestleMania 35 last year. But the match was scrapped due to Lars’ anxiety issues. The debutant star had to go home leaving WWE programming.
This match was rumored to take place at WrestleMania 36, again. Jut those plans got nixed once again as there’s no concrete update available on when he could be back. It was indefinitely pushed back after fans became aware of his past in adult movies. With that being said, a new opponent’s name was added to the mix.
Thank you to @WWE for allowing me the opportunity to come to #Smackdown @WWEonFOX to promote a project nearly 20 years in the making. #InvisibleMan 🖐😁 https://t.co/vN3FcK8RN2 pic.twitter.com/OWqhxUPyB6

WWE is now trying to do John Cena vs. Velveteen Dream at WrestleMania 36. A report from wwfoldschool.com suggested the following,
“There were pitches made for John Cena vs. Sting and John Cena vs. Hulk Hogan, but both got turned down as Vince McMahon wants Cena to work with a full-timer and put him over.”
If this program for John Cena gets dropped for John Cena then he might have to do something similar to that of WrestleMania 35, last year. But still, WWE is likely to arrange a wrestling capacity for him as the next Wrestlemania takes place in his hometown of Tampa, Florida.
