The Royal Rumble PPV takes place on January 26th which will be the first PPV event of the year 2020. It will kick off the WrestleMania 36 season, as well. As noted during the TLC pay-per-view, WWE has changed its strategy while setting up a pay-per-view event. Recently Vince McMahon has been reluctant to announce matches way ahead of pay-per-views. Plus, he keeps changing plans while building up the storylines.

For now, two matches seemed to be fully set for the Royal Rumble pay-per-view are which are as follow,
• WWE RAW Women’s Championship-Becky Lynch vs Asuka
• WWE Universal Championship-The Fiend vs Daniel Bryan
The source also noted several matches is in the pipeline to get announced in due course. At present, WWE is discussing the following possible matches,
• WWE Championship Brock Lesnar vs TBD
• RAW Tag-Team Championship
The O.C. vs The Viking Raiders
• WWE United Rey Mysterio vs Andrade

It should be noted that not even one of these matches has been finalized. As for the men’s and women’s division Royal Rumble matches, WWE might include RAW, SmackDown and NXT rosters with 10 participants from each brand
• 10 Raw participants
• 10 SmackDown participants
• 10 NXT participants (possibly less)
It’s expected that NXT will be highlighted during the upcoming Royal Rumble. It will help them to get mainstream exposure and Triple H is pushing the idea. However, as always, Vince McMahon will take the final call regarding the entrants.
