WWE Universal Champion Braun Strowman is set for his second title defense in a Handicap Match at the upcoming WWE Backlash pay-per-view. May 22nd episode of SmackDown on FOX opened with the champion interrupting The Miz and John Morrison on The Dirt Sheet talk show. The appearance then led to a singles contest between these two where Braun Strowman defeated The Miz.

He was then challenged by John Morrison to a Handicap Match at Backlash, with the title being on the line. The Monster Among Men accepted the challenge, right away to make the match official for the pay-per-view event. Odds are against him as he will have to face these two veteran heel stars at the same time. They will be hell-bent on taking advantage of the number-games and outsmart Braun Strowman.
But the betting odds favor Braun Strowman who is expected to retain with quite an ease. As revealed by Sky Bet, the behemoth persona is quite the clear favorite to walk out of the second pay-per-view show after WrestleMania with the belt standing at 1/5 odds.
The Miz & Morrison, on the other side, are the underdogs with 10/3 odds despite this one being a handicap match. The challengers were not portrayed in a strong way, either in recent times.
WWE Stars AJ Styles & Daniel Bryan To Be Grand Marshals In NASCAR Race
The Miz and Morrison could be a force to be reckoned with in the tag team division but both of them haven’t been properly utilized in the singles picture.
Miz hasn’t held a World Championship for more than a decade whereas Morrison has never won the prestigious title in his career. So, it’s hard to believe that they could overcome the gigantic challenge waiting for them in the form of Braun Strowman.
It was earlier believed that Braun Strowman would defend his title against The Fiend at Backlash as he retained over Bray Wyatt at Money In The Bank 2020. It seems like The Fiend vs. Strowman lineup is stored for another future PPV event. The 2020 WWE Backlash pay-per-view will reportedly go down on June 14, from the closed-set WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.
