Pro-wrestling fans speculated a lot about the in-ring future of Goldberg following his match against The Undertaker at Super ShowDown. It was the worst performance of his career that led the fans thinking that he should announce retirement, now. But the veteran was ready to come back and erase the bitter memory by competing in a memorable matchup.

Will The Rock Appear On Smackdown Live 20th Anniversary?

Salary Revealed Of WWE Legend Goldberg For Saudi Arabia Show

This is the sole reason that WWE inserted him in a matchup against Dolph Ziggler at SummerSlam. The show-off stepped up to the scene so to make the veteran superstar look better than ever before. In a short match, Goldberg beat the show-off hitting a number of spears and jackhammers to literally squash the former world champion.

Also, the audience was not unhappy to see Goldberg back on board. They did break out into chants of his name rooting for the veteran superstar. So now the question remains whether it means WWE will be using him in more matches in the future. While appearing on Booker T’s “The Hall of Fame” radio show, the WCW legend revealed that he does not intend to compete in the ring, immediately.

But it does not mean that he will be leaving physical competitions, fully. He will wait for the perfect opportunity as WWE always has a nag of bringing back older superstars on the occasion of big-four or Saudi Arabia PPV shows. Here’s more of what Goldberg offered to his former WCW colleague,

“I’d be content never stepping foot back in the ring again, but I don’t know. It’s not something I aspire to do, but it is something that… I don’t know, I have no idea, I really don’t.”

Goldberg also joked about mentioning an instance from WCW days. He never wanted to wrestle in an age which is more than bearable for his body. In fact, he watched Ric Flair back then when he was already a 40-plus superstar,

“For me, it [returning to WWE] is giving me an opportunity to relive a part of what I did for my family because they weren’t there [during his first WCW/WWE run].

“I can be a cooler dad, providing my son with opportunities to go around and be in different cities and see his father go out and do some cool things, and have kids cheer me on, hopefully.”

We thought Goldberg had his last match at Wrestlemania 33 in 2017 against Brock Lesnar. But he never mentioned that even after entering the Hall of Fame club of the WWE. He is open to doing more matches for the WWE Universe in future which should bring him back on TV, sooner.
