As per the words of Ric Flair, he learned about Becky Lynch using The Man gimmick at Summerslam 2018 night. It was cool for her as Charlotte Flair competed in that match against Becky giving rebirth of the latter one. However, Ric expected that WWE should receive his permission before doing so. When he volunteered to speak to the company owing to the same matter, the lawyers may have been disrespectful to him.
This made Ric Flair furious as he did not dare to file for The Man trademark. In the comments, he even mentioned that Charlotte Flair, her daughter is pretty mad at him for doing this. After all, Becky Lynch is her good friend and so does she considers WWE as the perfect employer for herself.
“It’s funny, my daughter [Charlotte Flair] is so mad at me because I filed, not even understanding that it’s not Becky. I have no beef with Becky.
I am The Man.

But here’s the deal: when I almost died two years ago, one person stayed by me the whole time for 31 days in ICU, 12 days while I was dying on a respirator, and I’m going to take care of her and her family, and my family that has taken care of me, no matter what.
I don’t care what WWE thinks of me personally; I know they love me, but obviously they have lost respect for me. If I don’t win, and even if I won, Becky can have [The Man] all day long. I’m glad! But I want the company to pay me for it because I’m going to take care of my family.
I am going to be ‘The Man’, and if I don’t get it, you know what my tombstone will say? ‘He died trying to be The Man’.”
The Good news is that the two parties are finally trying to come in an agreement. As per recent reports from Brad Shepard, WWE officials “According to a source in WWE, the company is trying to work out a deal with Ric Flair over ‘The Man’ situation. I’m told there are no hard feelings yet, but some people believe it could get a little nasty because they view Flair as stubborn.”
