Roman Reigns hyped up this week’s episode of WWE Raw by announcing his return. We expected a major fallout at the beginning of the show. Seth Rollins was about to issue a response to AJ Styles over their title match at Money in the Bank. Plus, storyline buildups and more PPV titles matches were about to become official as we headed into the show that took place at the US Bank Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio.
McMahon introduces a wild card rule
Vince McMahon opened WWE Raw but soon Roman Reigns’ music cut him off. McMahon warned Reigns to watch his action or else Cincinnati Police will arrest him. As the two argued, Daniel Bryan returned with the pledge of a WWE Championship rematch. Soon Kofi Kingston hit the ring with Drew McIntyre following him. McMahon then announced McIntyre vs. Reigns and Kofi vs. Bryan for WWE title.
AJ Styles walked out next asking Vince McMahon why these Smackdown superstars are out on WWE Raw. WWE Universal Champion Seth Rollins interrupted the conversation claiming that Raw belongs to him. Styles did not agree with it and the two prepared to fight. But McMahon announced they will be teaming up.
A tag team match followed next with the lineup of AJ Styles and Seth Rollins vs. Bobby Lashley and Baron Corbin. Corbin rolled up Rollins with almost a cheap win. But Rollins hit a step-up enzuigiri before super-kicking him. Styles accidentally hit Rollins with a Phenomenal Forearm and walked away. Corbin hit the End of Days on Rollins to get the win.
Sami Zayn appeared on WWE Raw to cut another heel promo on the audience. But Braun Strowman cut him off and chased to the back. Zayn ran until he ran through a garage door. Strowman caught him and threw into the dumpster. A garbage truck pulled up and emptied the dumpster into the back of the truck and carried Zayn away with it.
Lucha House Party was up against three unknown names to win the match easily after Lince Dorado hit a guy with a shooting star press for the pinfall. Ricochet put his Money in the Bank spot on the line against Robert Roode who almost stole it by hitting a spinebuster. But Ricochet set him up for a 630-splash and hit it successfully for the win.
Lacey Evans fought in a match against a newbie where all the women’s Money in the Bank competitors surrounded the ring. Lacey hit a slingshot Bronco Buster followed by a Women’s Right on her opponent to get the win. After the match, Becky Lynch hit the ring and tried to lock in the dis-arm-her on Lacey but she somehow escaped the hold and ran away from the ring.
The Viking Raiders vs. Hawkins and Ryder in a non-title capacity happened next on the show where Erik delivered a boot on Hawkins to put him away. He countered a Rough Ryder into the Double-Knees as the Raiders hit the Viking Experience on Ryder for the victory.
Roman Reigns took on Drew McIntyre in a WrestleMania rematch on WWE Raw. Reigns delivered a Superman Punch to McIntyre and connected with a spear but he could not capitalize as Shane McMahon attacked him from the back. McMahon and Elias double-teamed on Reigns until Miz made the save. The fight continued until Elias sent Reigns into a Claymore from McIntyre. Miz chased down Shane McMahon to the backstage area and caught him with chair shots. But McMahon kicked him in the groin and left the arena in his limo.
The Usos and The Revival had another fun segment where Uso Twins tried to humiliate Dash and Dawson in front of a live audience. Up next, No Way Jose was making his entry when Lars Sullivan came out. He dismantles everyone from the Conga Line before catching Jose with a running sit-out powerbomb and posing to end the segment.
Kofi Kingston defended the WWE Championship against Daniel Bryan on the main event of WWE Raw. Kingston went for the Trouble in Paradise but Byran hit him with a Drop-kick and followed up with a bridging German Suplex for a near fall. He went for the LeBell Lock but Kofi fought out of it and successfully hit the Trouble in Paradise in the third attempt to retain his WWE Championship. He celebrated with the title to close this week’s episode.
