WWE Raw Preview (22/04/19)-Superstar Shakeup Fallouts, New Rivalries
The 2019 edition of Superstar Shakeup took place on last week changing the rosters. Both WWE Raw and Smackdown superstars were part of this process to shake things up. The flagship show now has several new additions to the rosters that would help to create new feuds. This is what we need now that Wrestlemania 35 is over and we start things from scratch. This pretty much confirms new rivalries awaiting our way starting from tonight.
The new inclusions on the WWE Raw roster feature names like AJ Styles, The Usos, Naomi, The Miz, Rey Mysterio and more. It will be interesting to see which names they get paired up with on the show. Seth Rollins is still waiting for his first opponent following Wrestlemania whereas Becky Lynch has received a number one contender. They will continue proving to be strong champions when WWE Raw airs from the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa.
As stated earlier, several new names entered WWE Raw brand from both Smackdown and NXT roster. So the prime focus of tonight’s show would be to insert them into separate storyline angles. AJ Styles, Naomi, The Usos, The Miz, Andrade and more will be waiting to get their first official opponent on the red brand. It is going to be highly interesting to see what the creative team will have in-store for these names. Probably, a few of them is going to join the Money in the Bank ladder match waiting to emanate within four weeks from now.
Seth Rollins is also patiently waiting for the first opponent over the Universal Championship. With Wrestlemania getting over, Brock Lesnar will no longer be a part of the WWE programming. A regular name from the WWE Raw roster should challenge him over the title in due course. If the rumor mill is any indication, then we expect Drew McIntyre to renew his rivalry with Seth Rollins. This time, the red-strapped title will hang on balance.
Becky Lynch has received her first challenger following the historic win at Wrestlemania. Lacey Evans has defeated Natalya in a number one contender’s match, last week. Now she will be targeting the Raw and Smackdown women’s champion for the title. She is desperate to prove herself to be the meanest heel of the women’s roster. So Becky has to be extra careful. Also, we would know whether she gets shot to both the title at upcoming PPV.
We should give you a little spoiler about an unfinished import from Superstar Shakeup, last week. United States Champion Samoa Joe should be part of the WWE Raw roster but he could not appear during Superstar Shakeup due to flu. He must appear on tonight’s episode to make an emphatic statement. His speculated opponent is Braun Strowman since these two had a one-off segment following Wrestlemania 35.
Also, WWE.com hinted The Miz may continue his quest to get his hands on Shane McMahon even after coming back to WWE Raw,
“The Awesome One was revealed as the first SmackDown LIVE Superstar to move to Raw in the Superstar Shake-up, he wasted no time in making Shane-O-Mac pay for his transgressions, unleashing on “The Best in the World” with a steel chair. Shane managed to escape further battering at the hands of The Miz, but he’d best have his head on a swivel this coming Monday night.”
