The final episode of SmackDown will air tonight setting up one of the marquee matches of next year’s Royal Rumble. We will get to know who is going to be the challenger for the Universal Championship in the first pay-per-view of the year 2020 through tonight’s main event.

Not much buildups are expected for Royal Rumble as WWE has weeks of programming left before the PPV event. Still, the bad blood between Lacey and Sasha Banks would continue to heat up with more altercations.

Also, Braun Strowman will be in search of an Intercontinental Championship match when SmackDown airs from the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan.

Revealed: Vince McMahon Is A Big Supporter Of THIS WWE Raw Superstar

SmackDown ended last week with The Fiend taunting the three contenders for the WWE Championship. His laugh echoed through the arena sending a message to them who will battle it out on tonight’s main event match.

Revealed: Huge Match Waiting For Roman Reigns At WWE WrestleMania 36

It is going to be a Triple Threat Match between Daniel Bryan, The Miz, and King Corbin to determine the number one contender for the Universal Championship. The winner will challenge “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt for the title at Royal Rumble 2020.

Now King Corbin has received the opportunity with his victory over Roman Reigns at TLC whereas The Miz still has a personal score to settle with The Fiend. However, it’s Daniel Bryan who is on a hell-bent mode to get his hands on The Fiend. With a changed look and attitude, he is the front-runner to win the match and challenge the champion.

The rivalry in the SmackDown women’s championship has become very interesting as WWE inserted Lacey Evans’ daughter into the context. Sasha Banks got into little Summer’s face, last week making Evans irate. The duo even went at it on Instagram continuing the feud that appears to be quite personal as of now.

It will be interesting to see if WWE continues to use Evans’ daughter into the context, even tonight. She will get an open forum to talk about it by joining A Moment of Bliss talk show hosted by Alexa Bliss. This will be the premiere of the show on FOX.

Braun Strowman made his TV return on SmackDown, last week to enter the Intercontinental Championship picture. He rescued the tag team champions from getting a beatdown at the hands of Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro.

Plus, he also urged Nakamura’s manager Sami Zayn for an IC title match which is yet to be answered. We’ll see whether this future matchup gets confirmed, tonight.

Also, we expect to see Roman Reigns back into the scene after a hiatus since the TLC pay-per-view. He should come back seeking retribution to King Corbin which perhaps cost the latter one in the main event match. The rivalry between these two is not likely to be over as SmackDown airs tonight with the decade’s final episode.
