Now, Alexa Bliss has opened up on the issue during a new video interview with BT Sport. She explained having a mentality of working even in a banged-up situation. But her past head injuries changed that concept. For more than six years, she didn’t suffer any injury and then suddenly had multiple back to back concussions that forced her to stay out of action for almost a year.

“You know, it was crazy, it was such a weird thing for me because growing up in gymnastics and cheerleading, you know and kickboxing, track, the whole deal. If we got injured in all-star cheer or gymnastics, we just wrapped it up and kept going,” Alexa Bliss said. “You know there was one cheer competition I went out with a knee brace, I had a broken thumb. Ankle was sprained or something like that. And I just did all my tumble passes with one arm. You just keep going.

“And for being in the company for almost seven years now. No, seven years now and not having any injuries and then having this one particular stint of time where it was just back-to-back concussions.”

The multi-time women’s champion suffered a pair of concussions while feuding with Ronda Rousey in 2018. It was noted how Ronda’s reckless kind of wrestling style was the real reason behind Alexa Bliss getting suddenly concussed. She admitted to having concerns that her in-ring career could have been over and thereby admitting the published reports were true,

“It was very scary because I didn’t know if I was going to be able to get back in the ring again,” Alexa Bliss recalled. “Because you know we’ve had a lot of WWE Superstars have to retire from that. And you know, I didn’t want to be one of those. But with concussions it’s such a dangerous thing because it could take a week to heal or it could take a year. You can’t just wrap a brain up in a cast and hope it heals.” (Courtesy Wrestling INC)

Alexa Bliss grew up to be athletic from track to gymnastics to kickboxing. She has been cheerleaders and competed in bikini competitions before coming to the pro-wrestling league. She was no stranger to the risks associated with this industry where she has to deal with physical activities. It should be noted that she has gone through similar trauma in her life due to an eating disorder disease and became a daredevil.

So Alexa Bliss was all okay with the rough and tough wrestling style of Ronda Rousey which did physically harm her body to a very big extent. Being a sporty woman, she never complained to the WWE officials about it. Thankfully, she is back in the wrestling circuit. Alexa Bliss has recently gone through her second reign as WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion with Nikki Cross.
