The pro-wrestling world is still buzzing from the surprise returns of Brock Lesnar and Becky Lynch at the Summerslam 2021 event. The pay-per-view garnered major attention as both these megastars made their way back to WWE TV as well as in the title picture. Now, these two are likely to be appearing on WWE’s weekly TV, this Friday Night on Smackdown, making it a huge one.
WWE is teasing that booth Brock Lesnar and new SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch will be in attendance for the post-SummerSlam edition of SmackDown on FOX, scheduled from the Vystar Veterans Memorial in Jacksonville, Florida.
No official confirmation on these appearances has been made from WWE’s part except for the teaser video for the August 27 episode of Smackdown. The promo highlighted the two returns at Summerslam and stated that we’d find out what could be next for The Man and The Beast.

“Two returns shocked the world. This Friday. The Man came back around and re-claimed her place at the top. What’s next for the new SmackDown Women’s Champion? Plus… The Beast is back. With his focus set on The Head of The Table, does destruction await the Universal Champion?” the voice-over in that promo mentioned while it ended with Smackdown commentator Pat McAfee indicating that “SmackDown is going to be massive!”
Interestingly, WWE’s website listing alongside the website of the host venue doesn’t have Becky Lynch or Brock Lesnar listed for Smackdown. But it those advertisements may haven’t been updated since the pay-per-view event. No preview or as such any official update regarding the upcoming episode is also not available on WWE’s official website, as of this writing.
As noted, Becky Lynch made her surprise return as the replacement for Sasha Banks and then defeated Bianca Belair for the title in just seconds. Brock Lesnar also made his surprise return after the SummerSlam main event where Roman Reigns retained his Universal Title over John Cena. Lesnar is now expected to begin a feud with Reigns, with Paul Heyman in the middle.
If Brock Lesnar appears on this week’s Smackdown then it will be his first appearance on the blue brand since November 1, 2019. As for Lynch, she hasn’t appeared on Friday nights since the October 4, 2019 episode.
