Brock Lesnar is back in the WWE by signing a new WWE contract which will reportedly keep him with the company through early 2023. As seen this past Saturday night, the top WWE Superstar returned to TV after a hiatus of more than a year at the end of SummerSlam pay-per-view to confront WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
This happened right after Reigns retained his title against John Cena. As mentioned, this was Brock Lesnar’s first WWE appearance since dropping the WWE Title to Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 36 in 2020. His last WWE contract reportedly expired in the summer of 2020. Now, he is back with a new deal with the company which will reportedly keep him under the WWE banner for almost a couple of years.
The new WWE contract of Brock Lesnar is believed to be intact for “roughly a year and a half,” according to Fightful Select. That should carry Lesnar through early 2023, possibly into WrestleMania 39 season. The new contract is also reportedly making the former champion work in at least 8 matches. It was noted by the source that the terms of the contract are open to change with further negotiations.
Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns is coming soon
The first match under Brock Lesnar’s new WWE contract is expected to be against Roman Reigns, with Paul Heyman playing a big part of the storyline since he has acted as an associate for both of them. There is no word on when Lesnar vs. Reigns will happen but rumor is that WWE Crown Jewel in October might be a perfect place to see it happening.

In more news for Brock Lesnar, he is now set to be a babyface on the WWE SmackDown roster. This was already being speculated after he returned to confront WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, a top heel after SummerSlam main event. PWInsider now reports that Lesnar is firmly on the babyface side of the SmackDown internal roster.
Interestingly, the WWE website still has Brock Lesnar listed as a RAW Superstar, as of this writing. This babyface turn would be the first time that he would technically be working as a babyface for the company since the early 2000s. The Beast is being promoted for an appearance on SmackDown, this week although there’s no confirmation available. In case he does appear then it will be his first-time appearance on the blue brand since November 2019.
