Charlotte Flair has been regarded to be the cornerstone figure of the WWE women’s division since her entry into it almost a decade ago. She was up for a big match at Wrestlemania 40, the biggest-ever WWE premium live event if not a significant setback occurred in the form of a devastating knee injury back in December 2023 on Friday Night SmackDown in a match against Asuka.
The multi-time WWE Women’s Champion went through a successful surgery to fix the issues and quickly jumped into the rehabilitation journey, to showcase the extreme level of dedication and resilience. This has also drawn comparisons to the Greatest of all Time, John Cena, who often showed superhuman ability to get healed, earlier than expected.
In the latest, Charlotte Flair attended a Make-A-Wish event at WWE World in Philadelphia in a program that was attached to the Wrestlemania 40 week festivities. She was asked for an update regarding her injury and progress by WrestlingNews.co’s Steve Fall.

In reply, Charlotte Flair stated that she had run and jumped around for the first time since her injury, recently. While she might have not made it to WrestleMania 40 since it’s still in the early phases of recovery, it was also stated in a cryptic note that there’s no certainty about the comeback,
“13 weeks out. I ran and jumped for the first time last week. I don’t think I’m gonna make it this weekend but you never know.”

Charlotte Flair dealt with multiple injuries after botched spot
As noted above, Charlotte Flair faced off against Asuka in a singles contest, and it was a one-against-many affair for The Queen with four other Damage CTRL members, present at ringside. There was a spot during a commercial break where a 14-time women’s champion was setting up for a move with Asuka but she slipped and got caught on the ropes. While falling, she ruptured her knees to cause the injury.
It was later revealed that Charlotte Flair was likely dealing with a torn ACL while follow-up reports from PWInsider informed that she tore her ACL, MCL, and meniscus. Plus, while falling off the top rope, the former champion possibly cracked her neck. The good thing is that she’s back in training in full force which should prepone her return to the squared circle.
