Chelsea Green is someone about whom there’re some high hopes among the WWE fans. She was never really an NXT material and thus got an early call-up to the main roster, in December 2019. Even one year later, she is looking forward to making an impact. She debuted on SmackDown, then she was injured and thus got immediately sidelined.
That was not the first time that WWE proposed Chelsea Green’s call-up, for sure. According to Fightful, WWE had a very different idea about her that could take the fans, fifteen years back. The company almost rebooted an idea that was used for none other than Trish Stratus. It was that obsessed fan angle with Mickie James.

Chelsea Green: WWE Planned Fan Obsession Angle For Bikini Specialist
This was a way to bring Mickie James into a solid storyline, as well who was not present on WWE TV for sometimes, earlier this year. So some of the creative members were behind this idea for Chelsea Green. Reports claimed that this storyline from 2005-2006 was the basis of the pitch.
They also reportedly had a “solid plan” built around it but it “inexplicably got scrapped.” Reviving that 15-year-old angle that once produced a WrestleMania title match wasn’t just meant to be.

They apparently also moved forward “a lot further than a pitch.” Mickie James was supposed to be the object of Chelsea Green’s fandom, this time around. They “actually filmed content to start the angle.” When everything was ready to go, plans were “abruptly changed only hours before it was set to air.” It must be Vince McMahon who didn’t give that green signal for the content and thus Green’s debut got postponed.
As a result, the self-proclaimed bikini specialist then had to wait for months after the next opportunity was presented to her. But when she made that debut, the injury ruined everything and her Survivor Series presence was canceled.
A few weeks ago on SmackDown, Chelsea Green was involved in a Fatal 4-Way Survivor Series qualifier with Natalya, Tamina Snuka, and Liv Morgan while making her debut. But she was suddenly kicked off the apron by Liv Morgan about a minute into the match. Green stayed outside of the ring, thereafter. It was later confirmed she broke her left wrist and was taken to hospital, shortly.
