Daniel Cormier joining the WWE is a long-time rumor that never became true. The pro-wrestling company has signed names like Tyson Fury or Cain Velasquez from the mainstream sports world in recent times.

But they are yet to bring in a heavier name like Daniel Cormier who’s been a former UFC heavyweight champion. Thus, the dream match between him and the WWE Champion, Brock Lesnar also remains speculation.

Recently, Daniel Cormier appeared in an interview with Konnan’s Keeping It 100 to note on this matter. He might not want to wrestle like his friend Cain Velasquez but he is still open to doing commentary on SmackDown.

He specifically took the name of the blue brand since the host network FOX is familiar to him, being a UFC superstar.

As per his comments, the doors for entering the WWE has definitely not come to an end, yet. Daniel Cormier even noted that he’s even spoken to Triple H and Michael Cole about getting a spot on that commentary team within WWE. But as of now, the “the ship has not sailed on that.” Check out more from DC regarding his much-anticipated show-up on WWE,

“I’ve had a lot of conversations with a lot of people about different things with WWE. One was the studio show in LA (WWE Backstage). Another one was maybe trying to figure out a way to be on the commentary table. I’ve got some great relationships with FOX so I don’t necessarily know if it was WWE pushing it or FOX pushing it.”

“I’ve talked to Triple H and Michael Cole, I’ve talked to the people who run the shows down at FOX. I like to say the ship has not sailed. We still have to find something that works and the moment we find something that works, I’m all in.”

It’s yet to be seen if Daniel Cormier eventually shows up in the WWE in due course. But WWE may give it a second thought to bring him in for commentary purposes.

The original plan to use a fighter like him would have been in a wrestling capacity. But the much-hyped match against Brock Lesnar is not happening ever since DC may not step foot in a WWE ring as a wrestler.
