Emma had a long wish to perform on behalf of the WWE in her home country of Australia and the opportunity presented itself after WWE announced Elimination Chamber from Down Under. Unfortunately, just a few hours later, WWE also announced a list of releases in September 2021 and the Australian native was one of those names.
“Oops nevermind. I just got released. I am no longer with WWE.” Emma wrote, soon after after sharing her joy that her home country got to host next year’s Elimination Chamber in February. The former Impact Wrestling Knockouts Tag Team Champion was among the first set of releases after the WWE UFC merger and the popular belief is that All Elite Wrestling could be having interest in her.
Shortly after Emma was released by WWE, top AEW star Saraya (FKA Paige in WWE) posted a message to X saying hi to her former opponent and tag team partner back in the previous days of NXT. The released talent waved her back in reply to which Saraya mentioned that they needed to run back things in All Elite Wrestling. Time will tell whether AEW could be interested in the released star and make her reunite with Saraya on their TV.

Emma had her ups and downs in the WWE
Emma and Paige previously shared the ring in the WWE many times. Back in 2013, they competed in a match on WWE NXT to crown the first-ever NXT Women’s Champion. Many also credit the duo with helping begin WWE’s Women’s Revolution with another critically acclaimed match the following year at WWE NXT Arrival which marked the NXT brand’s first major event on the WWE Network.
While Paige got the opportunity to establish herself as a major star power in the WWE, some unfortunate events led Emma out of the company, that same year, she did return after a short break but WWE never utilized her to be a top female talent on their TV.
The Diva having real name Tenille Dashwood was then permanently released by WWE back in 2017. Following her release, she had a successful stint with IMPACT Wrestling. Emma then made her return to WWE last year but she again failed to feature prominently on TV despite her romantic angle with real-life boyfriend Riddick Moss who was also released by the WWE.
