Batista is someone who is retired from in-ring competition but the professional wrestling circuit just can’t stop spreading the rumors of a return for him. The reality is that he had wrestled his final match against Triple H at WrestleMania 35 with no intentions of making a return to the ring. He’s contended with the experience and doesn’t even want to get that rumor started.
While speaking at Justice Con, Batista received the question on whether he’s thinking of coming back to action. Addressing his in-ring status, the 2020 Hall of Famer (who’s yet to be officially inducted) made it crystal clear that he has no intention to make a return to the wrestling ring. He has a lot of projects in the pipeline, but coming back to WWE is not on the list.
WWE Star Batista Clarifies Drax The Destroyer Character Isn’t Ending
“Don’t put that out there, people will jump all over that [laughs]. ‘He’s coming out of retirement!’ No, I’m not. It’s so hard to convince people that I’m actually retired. You have no idea how tough that discussion is. When a professional wrestler retires, they don’t really retire, they kind of retire. If the paycheck or event is big enough, they’ll come out of retirement,” Batista stated.
“It’s just not that way with me. I exited the business in such a storybook way, I could never go back. I’m just done. I got to finish on my own terms and nothing is going to bring me back and take away from that.”

Batista didn’t appear in this year’s WWE Hall of Fame
Batista was initially announced to receive the WWE Hall of Fame honor during WrestleMania 37 weekend but his appearance was later pulled out. He is rumored to appear during a later ceremony where the induction of the six-time world champion could happen in front of live fans. Perhaps that moment would occur, next year during WrestleMania 38 weekend.
Batista, real name Dave Bautista has made it to the comic book world as a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy cast. With the third installment of the franchise, due, he is willing to add a DC character to his resume. During the conversation at Justice Con, the legendary wrestler was also questioned whether he has any interest in playing Lobo from DC’s Extended Universe.
It seems Batista is certainly interested in the character introduced in 1983. He would be all down if given a chance.
“I would really take a look at Lobo. I’d really be interested. I’d be all over that.”
It’s unknown whether DC Universe is interested in the former WWE Superstar from Washington as there are some doubts over whether he would be able to get some free time from his busy schedule.
