Mandy Rose is the reigning NXT Women’s Champion who’s been holding on to the gold for almost the past ten months. Starting from last November’s Halloween Havoc, it’s been hard to find a female superstar on NXT Women’s Division who’d dethrone her from the ongoing reign. As time proceeded, she also surpassed Charlotte Flair in terms of the length of the ongoing title reigns.
Zoey Stark is the current number-one contender to the title held by Mandy Rose. The two are currently slated for a championship clash at WWE NXT Heatwave, next week. Heading into the title defense, the champion is possibly having some bad times following an unprecedented attack by the challenger.

During this week’s NXT 2.0 episode, Mandy Rose confronted the number one contender for her NXT Women’s Championship, Zoey Stark after the latter defeated Cora Jade in the main event segment. The champion went for an ambush and thus tried to outsmart the challenger.

However, showcasing her massive strength and presence of mind, Stark flipped the champion over and attempted to hit her knee to the face. The finisher didn’t connect properly, causing an awkward landing. As seen in the footage, the back of Mandy Rose’s head landed on her championship. Being a popular figure, the fanbase of the Toxic Attraction leader was worried.
To assure them, Mandy Rose took to Twitter and provided a quick update on the scary bump. Alongside a gif of the botched move, she implied of doing absolutely fine with the following comment,
“I’m doing okay guys thanks for asking.”

That being said, the scheduled match at NXT Heatwave during the August 16 episode should be happening, as per schedule. The expectation is that the champion will find a way to keep the title around her waist, after all against Stark who has also returned from an injury.
After missing out on action for the beginning of 2022, Stark recently returned to NXT 2.0 and won a 20-woman Battle Royal to become the number-one contender for NXT Women’s Title. On this week’s episode of NXT, she defeated Cora Mandy Rose’s hired goon Cora Jade and then sent a message to Rose about how she’s going to take the title away from her at Heatwave.
