Mickie James is considered by many professional wrestling fans as one of the trailblazers of women’s wrestling. At a time when WWE had to deal with the departure of Trish Stratus or Lita, it was her who took the charges of carrying forward the division and would eventually go on to become a six-time women’s champion in the company.

The 42-year-old veteran last wrestled on the July 14th episode of IMPACT Wrestling. While getting asked about potentially teaming with a current WWE star, Mickie James has recently hinted that her time inside the squared circle may be done.

Someone on Twitter asked Mickie James whether she could be WWE Raw Superstar Asuka’s partner for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship tournament. Responding to it, the former Women’s Champion gave a simple negative answer followed by the impression that she’s done with in-ring competition.

“I appreciate you. Honestly I’ve been so blessed & love my fans so much! I wouldn’t have had all this without you. What is left for me to prove anymore? What else can I do? Id rather bow out screaming “Womens Wrestling Matters” from the top of the mountain than the valley,” the lengthy follow-up from the veteran noted.

Mickie James worked in different promotions since leaving WWE

In recent times, Mickie James has been involved in top feuds and matches in NWA and Impact Wrestling. She first appeared in NWA at the June 8, 2021 taping of Powerrr to announce that she will be the producer for the all-women pay-per-view named EmPowerrr. She would then defeat Kylie Rae in an open challenge during the 73rd Anniversary Show of NWA followed by several more appearances on Powerrr.

Over on Impact, Mickie James started appearing from the 2021 Slammiversary to begin a feud with Deonna Purrazzo who defend her Knockouts Championship during the EmPowerrr event. In the rematch at bound for Glory, James would go on to defeat Purrazzo for the title and become the new champion. Tasha Steelz would then take the title off James during the Sacrifice PPV event.

In WWE, Mickie James made history by becoming the first Impact Wrestling Superstar to appear in a WWE event, the 30-woman Royal Rumble match, earlier this year. Overall, she held the WWE Women’s Championship 5 times and the Divas Championship once before parting ways with the company.
