Peyton Royce was among those names from the WWE roster who were let go ever since the coronavirus pandemic began, last year. The company eventually released several employees, including massive talents Superstars, over the past several months. The tradition of releasing superstars actually jumpstarted this year where the cut-downs happened on a random basis.
The IIconics, Billie Kay, and Peyton Royce were a part of those cuts following Wrestlemania 37, and that came as a shock. Previously, the latter one revealed how she is the one to be responsible for the cut, possibly after pitching the idea of splitting up The IIconics, for good. She was actually going with the idea of becoming a singles star especially with Vince McMahon backing it up.

A meeting for hours with the chairman is a rare thing to attend for any superstar but the released star did have that opportunity. Peyton Royce was released from WWE in April, but before that, she had a long sit-down with McMahon. She recalled how the chairman rejected her pitches.
While speaking to Chris Van Vliet, the now known, Cassie Lee explained exactly what went on during that meeting with Vince McMahon and the head of the creative team, Bruce Prichard. The two actually showed interest in building Peyton Royce as a motivational speaker on TV. The idea was granted how much the Australian Superstar sacrificed just to be with the WWE. But nothing came out of the pitch.
Working in WWE was Peyton Royce’s dream job
“I would be a motivational speaker. Vince loved how much I had sacrificed to be there and I didn’t want anything else in my life other than to work for him. He loved that and was so thankful for what I had sacrificed; my family, everything in Australia, my whole life. That’s what we had come up with,” Peyton Royce revealed. “Obviously, nothing ever came of it. That conversation wasn’t like a complete dud. From my perspective, it was like, ‘Damn, this is what I wanted to present and move forward with.’ There’s nothing I don’t think I could have done because I friggin’ tried everything.”

Since her college days, Peyton Royce was going with the idea of heading into WWE since this was her dream job. She got to perform with Billie Kay on the highest level as the duo also held the Women’s tag team titles at Wrestlemania. However, things didn’t last for them for good. The former IIconics member thus also mentioned that she had lost all the interest in pro-wrestling after the release from WWE,
“Being let go really broke my heart, and for a long while it kind of took my love. It stole my love of wrestling. And I would love to get that back and not move on with my life with this bitter feeling about wrestling. I still get emotional about it. But I know one day I will get over those circumstances and not let it affect me like it does now.” (quotes courtesy Fightful)
