Randy Orton is a bonafide main event player in the WWE who has already spent 19 years with the company. While some might think of retirement after going through a lot in his career, he still believes a lot is left in his tank. Since he started in the company at a very young age, he’s still young in comparison to his contemporaries.
Now The Viper is 40 years old and he doesn’t want to slow down, at all. While speaking to Steve Austin on the Broken Skull Sessions airing on WWE Network/Peacock, Randy Orton revealed that he wants to wrestle at least until 50 if his body copes up. He wants to wrestle for one more decade which is a lengthy perspective indeed.
Previously, the former WWE Champion used to think about how his body would cope up around the 40s. Things are looking good for him and as long as he can keep his shoulder healthy, he doesn’t intend to stop.
“I will see pictures from five years ago where I’m like, ‘man, I gotta get back to that kind of shape.’ And my wife brought that to my attention the other day… ‘Back then, in 2014, when you looked like that, you thought you looked like sh*t,’” Randy Orton stated.
“You are never going to be happy. At 40, I want to wrestle another decade if I can and I know it is not about getting my pecs up here [puts hands on chest], like Bobby Lashley and Batista do. It is about making sure my shoulder stays in. It is about longevity for me.”
“I want to do this as long as I can. I don’t see branching off to do this or that like a lot of guys do. WWE is my home and what I do. I am a professional wrestler.”
Randy Orton And Riddle’s RK-Bro Reportedly Getting A Push In WWE
Randy Orton’s long career in WWE created negative reactions
Now, these comments have obviously caused a lot of negative talks within the pro wrestling community as some may believe that despite being a pro, he will be capturing a spot on the roster. But the fact is that Randy Orton worked hard to achieve this top spot and he won’t give it up, so easily.
Shane Helms aka The Hurricane recently tweeted out to say that Orton is “one of those rare people in this biz that actually give credit where it’s due.” The Apex Predator of the WWE saw this tweet and came up with a strong reply. He has a spot and he will capture it until and unless he doesn’t want to give it away.

“I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for many different people. I’ll never forget that. But I know, and they know. No problem giving credit where credit is due. I have a spot. I’ll have that MOTHER F*CKING spot as long as I want it. But make no mistake, I didn’t get here by myself,” the tweet stated.
It should be noted that Helms was the first person to receive an RKO and we bet he hasn’t forgotten that. Afterward, there are not many wrestlers on the main roster who wasn’t downed with the devastating finisher that helped Randy Orton to rack up fourteen world championship wins in his career. If he continues to wrestle for ten more years, we ought to believe that Ric Flair’s 16 reigns won’t be safe.
