Renee Paquette has become an integral part of AEW TV since joining All Elite Wrestling in the fall of 2022. She has always been a trailblazer during her days in the WWE and her trendsetter status is still intact. After joining the AEW, she is playing the same role of being a wrestling journalist on TV.
Her husband, Jon Moxley fka Dean Ambrose in WWE has been with AEW since May 2019 and it was only safe to assume that she will eventually join the brand. A top superstar in AEW, Moxley became a three-time world champion since joining AEW and it’s safe to say that he’s a main-eventer. As you can see, AEW has kept the husband and wife apart on-screen.
Renee Paquette recently addressed the idea of forming an on-screen couple on AEW TV with Jon Moxley. Appearing on the Sports Media podcast, she stated that she does not believe Mox needs to be aligned with her to tell great stories as he’s not the kind of person who needs romantic involvement.
Renee Paquette Reveals How Her Husband Makes Her Nervous In AEW
Renee Paquette didn’t have a conversation with Tony Khan about an angle with Jon Moxley
Speaking in the conversation. Renee Paquette indicated that they never discussed the idea, nor she has discussed it with AEW President Tony Khan,
“We’ve definitely not had that conversation. Jon and I haven’t spoken about it. Tony [Khan] and I haven’t spoken about it. But, I’m sure Jon would agree with this, his character is so lone wolf, does his own thing, walks to the beat of his own drum. I think me adding a layer to that is not something that he needs.
I just don’t really see that being a thing that he needs, especially with the style that Jon wrestles. There’s not really a lot of room for me to go out there. And what am I gonna add to that?”
That being said, the odds are there that Renee Paquette will continue her role on AEW TV as a broadcaster. As for Moxley, she most recently won gold at the AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam special in September. Then at the Full Gear pay-per-view on November 19th, he dropped the title to MJF.
Renee Paquette left the WWE in August 2020 after her contract with the company had expired. After leaving the company, she launched a podcast, Oral Sessions with Renee Paquette (now The Sessions). She and her husband, Moxley, welcomed a daughter in 2021.
