Renee Young now going by her original name of Renee Paquette was a huge part of WWE programming in her heyday. She was featured in some of the most path-breaking moments in WWE history before things started to feel repetitive for her in the WWE. Ultimately, she left Vince McMahon’s promotion almost two years ago and the former CEO was a big reason behind that departure.
Since her WWE exit, Renee Young has been very much open about how things had become rigorously stale for her in the company in the final days under Vince McMahon’s leadership. Then while speaking with Brian Gerwitz about her experiences in WWE on the latest installment of The Sessions With Renee Paquette, she remembered some challenging aspects of her commentary gig.

Apparently, Sr. McMahon would continuously be putting words in her ears, and following those appeared to be quite hectic for Renee Young,
“There was times that Vince would for sure be in my ear, but I’ll tell you what was really rough about that was hearing him,” Paquette said. “There were so many times where I’m like, ‘Could you repeat that again?’ Like, I just couldn’t hear him. I don’t know if that was a me problem, I don’t know if it was him mumbling, but there were definitely times where he was talking to me, but I could not tell you what he was trying to get me to say.”

Renee Young was the first full-time female commentator in WWE
Renee Young made history in 2018 by becoming the first woman to call the actions from Monday Night Raw as a regular member of the commentary team. The reception was positive toward her but she herself didn’t like that job, very much. However, the history books will always promote her as WWE’s first full-time female commentator who used to appear each week on the flagship program along with Corey Graves and Michael Cole.
After a year through her gig, Renee Young was sent to Smackdown as a contributor after the blue brand was acquired by FOX. She then also shifted her focus to co-hosting “WWE Backstage” on FOX Sports alongside WWE alums like current AEW World Champion CM Punk or former WWE Divas Champion Paige.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, WWE and FOX scrapped that program from the schedule which allowed Renee Young to find a loophole in her WWE contract and find her way out of the company. Since then she has focused on her personal endeavors like starting her own podcast, a YouTube channel, and writing a cookbook.
