Rok-C has been considered as one of the free agents for the past few months ever since Ring of Honor was shut down. Her free status was creating a buzz for months as fans anticipated the former ROH Women’s Champion to get signed with one of the major wrestling promotions. Her mentor Booker T claimed that WWE had already signed her to a contract. And that’s apparently true.
Rok-C recently attended a WWE tryout and many within the company were pushing the higher-ups to make the signing happen. It was just a matter of time before the deal became official. Proving several months of rumors and speculations true, the former Ring of Honor Women’s Champion is finally coming to the WWE, as per the latest reports.
WWE Wrestlemania 38: Stone Cold Steve Austin Ready For A Fight Sequence
According to the updates from PWInsider, the 20-year-old wrestler has indeed become a WWE Superstar. He is likely to be signed to the NXT brand but there’s no update on when she will possibly be starting with the company on TV. The source also confirmed that Rok-C’s signing seemed inevitable after she was released from her Ring of Honor contract, along with everyone else in ROH in late 2021.
Rok-C is set to begin WWE career on NXT
It was originally reported by F4WOnline in February that she had been offered a contract by WWE following her second tryout with the company. It was after that report that WWE Hall of Famer Booker T, who trained Rok-C at his Reality of Wrestling promotion, talked about her signing which was then considered to be premature.
Beginning her wrestling training at an age of just 13, Rok-C began training under Booker T at 16 and then proceeded to learn more from AAA luchador Daga and MLW luchador Gino Medina. After working for Reality of Wrestling from 2018 to 2021, she began appearing for Ring of Honor and became a prominent name in the Women’s Division.
Rok-C defeated Miranda Alize at ROH Death Before Dishonor XVIII to win a tournament to become the inaugural ROH Women’s World Champion. On her way to becoming a champion, she previously defeated Angelina Love, Sumie Sakai, and Quinn McKay (WWE’s Kelly Kincaid) to proceed to the tournament finale and become the champion.
Thus, Rok-C became the youngest talent in Ring of Honor history to hold a championship at an age of just 19. She defended the title 9 times, notably against Willow Nightingale at ROH Final Battle and against Holidead on the last episode of ROH Wrestling under the Sinclair regime. Before ROH shut down, She would drop the title to AAA Reina de Reinas Champion Deonna Purrazzo in a Winner Takes All match on the January 13 episode of Impact Wrestling.
