Without a doubt, Roman Reigns is the top-most heel superstar on the WWE roster but he is much more than just a villain. Since his return to the WWE in the summer of 2020, he’s literally ruling the yard with authority. The Samoan Superstar has transformed himself into the Head of the Table and someone could barely consider stepping up unless he wants to get smashed.
At WrestleMania 38, Roman Reigns beat Brock Lesnar to become the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion in the biggest ‘Mania match of all time. The biggest question now stands is who might possibly dethrone him from such a strong and lengthy title reign. Even WWE doesn’t seem to have an answer, at this point.
Spoiler On Roman Reigns’ Opponents On For MITB, Summerslam And CATC 2022 PLEs
A recent report suggested that the company has no plans to drop the undisputed titles, anytime soon. In fact, he might just hold on to this reign until next year’s WrestleMania 39 where he is supposed to go into a program with The Rock. But that’s a long story given almost a year is left in that match.
In an update, Ringside News was also told by a tenured member of the creative team that Roman Reigns is likely having a lengthy title reign. But, “the reports of ‘Roman will be champion for long term’ is typical internet click bait.”
It was noted how “there are no plans for Roman to lose the title.” Interestingly, there are also no title defenses lined up for the Tribal Chief in the first place. Brock Lesnar will be absent from WrestleMania Backlash and there’s no one who could likely be paired up against the champion.

Roman Reigns guaranteed to have a lengthy title reign
Furthermore, Vince McMahon isn’t likely to book Roman Reigns to lose the titles next week, or even within the next month. But that being said, he changes up mind on a frequent basis and books things as he sees fit. Hence, nothing is considered to be definite in WWE.
“Unless Roman has something in writing guaranteeing he’ll be champion for a length of time, there are no guarantees. Just no plans otherwise, right now, today.”
Steve Carrier of RSN added that just because there are no plans doesn’t mean that nothing new won’t come up for the dual champion in the WWE,
“There are no plans for him to lose the titles. Yes, but that doesn’t mean plans can’t change, because they can at a moment’s notice on Vince McMahon’s whim.”

At the post-Wrestlemania 38 episode of Smackdown, Shinsuke Nakamura confronted Roman Reigns and The Usos and got taken out in the middle of the ring. That segment was believed to be a setup behind a Reigns vs. Nakamura bout. However, no follow-up story was noted, afterward.
