Roman Reigns was hurt due to a slap from Kevin Owens at Survivor Series
According to the reports from Fightful Select, Roman Reigns was very angry backstage because of that spot. Plus, he was dealing with a ruptured eardrum from that slap. Word going on is that there won’t be any heat on Owens, as that slap and the follow-up blows occurred due to the heat of the moment. This was also the reason why The Tribal Chief didn’t appear in the post-Survivor Series WarGames press conference.
According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer, while Roman Reigns was legit upset from that slap, he also carried a noticeable bruising under his left eye. It was further added that while the top champion was upset in the beginning, “20 minutes later it had all blown over so there is no lingering issue regarding it.” Hence, the two top superstars have already buried the hatchet and their ongoing program should also continue.
Going by the recent updates, WWE has Roman Reigns vs. Kevin Owens planned for the Undisputed Title for Royal Rumble 2023 premium live event. There have been some concerns about his ruptured knee for the latter one. He was partially sidelined due to a sprained MCL, which he sustained at a live event. However, The Prizefighter was quickly back on WWE TV and he also participated in the WarGames Match.
