Roman Reigns has been built as an unstoppable force in the WWE over the past couple of years. His heel run on the Smackdown brand is considered to be the greatest of this modern era while the numbers are also reflected in his favor. Ratings have been steady for the blue brand while he’s become the number one merch-mover in WWE as a heel which impressed the WWE Officials.

At this point, Roman Reigns has reached yet another milestone in his career. As of the year 2021, he has completed 700 days since last being pinned or submitted in a WWE match. His last pinfall loss came at the hands of Baron Corbin at the TLC 2019 pay-per-view.

It should be noted that Roman Reigns has lost matches since then but those losses came in multi-man matches, where he didn’t get pinned. For most of this bygone summer, Smackdown tag team champions The Usos suffered the pinfall losses for the Bloodline faction at the hands of John Cena, Rey Mysterio, or Finn Balor.

Roman Reigns is the top heel force on Smackdown

On a December episode of SmackDown, King Xavier Woods defeated Roman Reigns via DQ in the main event of the episode that took place at the Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia. The disqualifications came after The Usos interfered and attacked Woods following an elbow drop.

Woods didn’t pin the champion, he still got a win over The Head Of The Table. That being said, Woods has now become the first man to claim a win over Roman Reigns in a singles match since the beginning of this Tribal Chief run (beginning from August 2020). This will definitely help Woods to get a future title shot against the champion since the bygone match was billed as a Championship Contender’s showdown.

In more news to the matchup, Petey Williams produced Roman Reigns vs. King Xavier from that SmackDown episode, according to Fightful. Williams was brought to the show for a tryout as a WWE Producer. The former TNA star has received praises for his role as a producer for the company in recent years. He was backstage working as a producer for the Impact Wrestling Bound For Glory PPV, in November.
