WWE is gearing up for one of the biggest events of the calendar year in late January’s Royal Rumble 2023 event from San Antonio’s Alamodome in Texas. Being the biggest edition of the chronology, it’s certain that we will receive a massive show to live up to the hopes. Rest assured that WWE’s inside corporate drama won’t have any effect on the grandeur of the coming event.
Triple H is still in charge of the company’s creative department as Vince McMahon hasn’t taken over things, yet and that being said, fans can expect to get massive surprises at Royal Rumble 2023. According to a new report from PWInsider, WWE Hall of Famer Edge is “penciled in” to make his return to the company to WWE programming on that same night.

Edge to attend at The Rumble
However, it was not noted exactly how the Rated R Superstar will be used. Following is what the source had offered regarding the return,
“Since we’ve been asked about his potential return for some time, PWInsider.com is told that Edge is penciled in to return at the WWE Royal Rumble PPV.”
Edge was last present on WWE TV at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view in October, where he came up short against Finn Balor in an I Quit Match. As his limited appearance deal was up in 2022, his absence was expected but with Royal Rumble 2023 kicking off the Road to WrestleMania 39, it’s a no-brainer that Edge should be back onboard which should set him up for a big match at the Show of Shows.

Another Hall of Famer could be back at Royal Rumble 2023
It was also reported by the source that Beth Phoenix is “also slated for the Rumble.” Her return could pave the way for a dream match with Rhea Ripley if the Hall of Famer could be retained for a few weeks, moving in from the Royal Rumble 2023. Either way, she could be a backup for Edge to combat Judgment Day and of course, The Nightmare in Rhea Ripley.
It was also revealed by the source that Doudrop is slated to be at Royal Rumble 2023. Reports claim that she’s been dealing with an illness but the expectation is that she will make it to WWE TV within the first pay-per-view event of the year.
It was also noted that “Logan Paul is absolutely being talked about in regard to an appearance at the Rumble as well, as long as his knee is rehabbed, and he’s ready to go.” Obviously, the YouTube megastar has been talked and he is being touted to wrestle at Royal Rumble 2023 if his injury is healed. Paul has been sidelined with multiple injuries that he picked up during his match against Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel 2022 in November.
