Bayley has been out of action for more than six months due to an injury but now it appears that she would be back in time for Wrestlemania 38. If reports are right then this return should give a sigh of relief to the WWE creative team who is already dealing with a number of injuries suffered by the likes of Drew McIntyre, Sasha Banks, Xavier Woods, and more.
As reported in the summer of 2021, Bayley underwent surgery to repair a torn ACL back in mid-July. She suffered the injury while going through a training session in the ring at the WWE Performance Center to prepare for her scheduled title match against Bianca Belair. It was noted then that she was expected to be out of action for around 9 months meaning that she would only be back in action around mid-April, after WrestleMania 38.
Chelsea Green Goes In Detail About Her 2021 WWE Release
Wrestling Observer Newsletter has now offered a sportive update in the situation saying that Bayley is expected to be back in action as early as February. While nothing is confirmed by the source, her return could eventually occur in March some time which will also make her available for a storyline around Wrestlemania 38.

Bayley is rumored to return within Wrestlemania 38
At this point, no update is available on how WWE is planning to use Bayley upon her return. It was reported via WON that one of the original plans for WrestleMania 38 had SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte, Flair, defending her title against Sasha Banks.
But Sasha was out of action with a foot injury suffered on January 2 and was also expected to be out of action for nearly two months. She then returned in time for Royal Rumble 2022. WWE might head in a different direction for Flair’s opponent due to Sasha being out. Bayley could have replaced The Boss to challenge Flair on The Grandest Stage of Them All. But then Flair vs. Rousey was confirmed for Wrestlemania 38.
It could also be possible that Bayley would end up making a surprise appearance at the Royal Rumble match for the women’s division to make her return a reality. It will be great to see her back in the folds for WrestleMania 38 as she was unable to wrestle at WrestleMania 37, last year. She did feature in a segment with The Bella Twins but she did not wrestle.
