Cena says he’d never retire from WWE
Why Daniel Cormier hasn’t joined WWE?
John Cena recently had a conversation with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated to talk about a myriad of topics. The interview happened due to his commitment with the FitOps Foundation, a nonprofit company committed to training and certifying veterans as personal trainers. He talked about missing the WWE during his time away from the company,
“I’m so grateful to be doing some amazing things right now, but I still miss WWE and still ask myself, ‘Who am I?’ when I am not active with WWE. My identity was so closely tied to WWE for so long.”
The Cenation Leader then got asked about the challenge laid out by Randy Orton challenging to a match at WrestleMania 36 on Sunday, April 5th, 2020. The Viper recently spotted John Cena in the cover of a magazine ready for a challenge. So he asked his long-time nemesis to another showdown at the biggest event of the year. So, will the 16-time world champion be ready for it? Check out his honest answer,
“I wasn’t even aware of that. I never make the matches, I’m just grateful to be able to perform in WWE. Every day away from it, I miss it more and more and more. I’m becoming more honest with myself about how much I miss it. I’m very eager to get back into a WWE ring soon.”
The former franchise figure of WWE considers that pro-wrestling is meant for opportunities for the younger generation. This is why he has taken a step back from WWE while focusing on a Hollywood career.
But he will be back whenever WrestleMania season appears. Whether in a match or a special appearance, John Cena will always be up for a show-up at the biggest event of them all,
“And on the subject of WrestleMania, I can tell you this—I haven’t missed a WrestleMania since my first appearance at WrestleMania 19, and I do not plan to miss a WrestleMania for decades to come.”
John Cena did not wrestle at this year’s WrestleMania 35 which happened for the first time in several years. He did an in-ring segment with Elias that witnessed him laying out the WWE Superstar. The last time he wrestled in a match was against The Undertaker at WrestleMania in 2018.
