The old-school Backlash pay-per-view has been repackaged as Wrestlemania Backlash 2022 as WWE looks forward to extending the Wrestlemania season for one more month. Starting last year, the company renamed the WWE Network Specials to indicate that the fallouts from the Biggest Event of the Year will be carried through another special event.
Wrestlemania Backlash 2022 is filled up with grudge matches from Wrestlemania 38 and this will be the first premium live event since Elimination Chamber 2020 that won’t have a world title match on the card. The only title match to be seen on the show is the Smackdown Women’s Title match which is obviously a rematch from ‘Mania.
