WWE Extreme Rules will return to the company’s PPV scheduled, later this year by replacing another PPV that was reportedly set. WWE has recently announced new September tour dates as they return to the road, starting from next week onwards. It appears that they have modified the schedule, a little bit.
It was confirmed that the WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view will take place on Sunday, September 26 from the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. Alongside this, several RAW and SmackDown tapings, plus non-televised live events and non-televised Supershow live events have been mentioned.
WWE Money In The Bank 2021: New Ladder Match Participants Announced
Going by reports from late June, WWE was previously rumored to host the Clash of Champions pay-per-view on September 26, but that has now been confirmed to be Extreme Rules. This is one particular night in the WWE calendar where most of the matches take place under different stipulations, matching up to the popular gimmick in the WWE.
With Clash of Champions previously rumored in September, Extreme Rules was supposed to go down in the month of October. The originally booked Hell in a Cell PPV event from this slot was already hosted in June, leaving October free. It appears that WWE might host a Saudi Arabia PPV in this slot if they are allowed to conduct an event on that month over the pond.
Previous reports from PWInsider also claimed that a live Monday Night RAW TV recording will be held at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts on September 13. WWE will also return to the world-famous Madison Square Garden arena in New York City on September 10 for a Smackdown episode. That show is now being billed as a Super Show consisting of both Raw and Smackdown superstars.
