WWE has gone back and forth fixing the date for the next Saudi Arabia PPV show for the past few weeks. They have been canceling multiple TV tapings to organize this since the Saudi authority specifically requested them to host these special shows on Fridays only. So they will now have two back to back shows on one single day!

As per the latest from Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the next Saudi Arabia show is set on its original date of November 1st which is Friday. There’s no update on what WWE will name the show but the earlier schedule will remain intact for the ‘twice in a year’ PPV show. This is the same timing when WWE hosted Crown Jewel in 2018, too prior to Survivor Series.
WWE faced a scheduling conflict with Friday bookings starting from October. SmackDown Live will air on FOX Sports on Friday nights instead of Tuesdays. So it’s not possible to host a weekly show as well as a PPV on the same night. But the Saudi Arabia General Sports Authority told WWE that they want their events to take place on Fridays only. So WWE went back to the originally scheduled date.
Here’s more from sescoops.com,
“Meltzer notes that WWE ended up canceling a number of European dates including the entire Italy tour, several U.K. shows, and rearranging television to where they were taping RAW and SmackDown.
Meltzer added, “RAW was taped ahead because the Saudis wanted the show on a different date. And now it’s back to the old date.”
So November 1st is going to be an exceptional day for WWE superstars. They will be on a PPV in Saudi Arabia on Friday afternoon whereas WWE will also have to air an episode of SmackDown Live on FOX later that night. If not taped, how is it possible to air both the shows on the live format? I am sure WWE will find out a way as quick as possible.
WWE has started the tradition of hosting PPVs in Saudi Arabia from 2018 onwards on a half-yearly basis. To date, we have received three such events in the form of The Greatest Royal Rumble, Crown Jewel, and Super Showdown. The next one will now emanate from the King Saud University Stadium in Riyadh which is yet to receive a name.
