The journey to an in-ring comeback was never easy for Daniel Bryan. There were immovable roadblocks in front of him in the form of WWE doctors.
Vince McMahon himself was anxious about his health being. The reason behind the same is WWE facing several lawsuits in the past with such concussions.
So, the Boss never wanted to take any further chance with Daniel Bryan. Furthermore, the head of the medical team, Dr. Joseph Maroon never medically cleared him over the course of the last couple of years. But, with his indomitable spirit, the leader of the YES movement managed to pull off a shocker.
Putting an end to the speculations, the former world champion returned to squared circle at Wrestlemania 34.
The process was not easy, as he has to convince his Boss and the entire medical team. In a recent episode of Talk is Jericho, Daniel Bryan revealed some of the backstage discussions about his concussion.
The host asked him about how he convinced Vince McMahon about his in-ring return. Bryan disclosed a conversation where McMahon reminded him of getting another concussion. But, he had an answer ready against it. In every physical sport, somebody goes through such concussions. But, that does not mean he faces a lifetime ban.
So, he proposed the idea of having an impact test after each match; he goes through.
Basically, he clarified the earlier reports of the same confirmed the same. This process will continue until the doctors think it’s not needed, anymore. But, for now, he had to go through the basic neurological checkups. It is what his comments were during the interview, (courtesy wrestlingINC.com)
“In every sport, when guys get a concussion and a trainer goes over to him, and they are asked if they are okay, and the guy would say that he is fine. They would ask if he has a concussion, and the guy would say no, he’s fine.
Myself included would say that. So, stop that because that has been an issue with me before. In the past, when I would have a concussion, I would just walk it off. My proposal would be that after every match I have to go to the trainer’s room and they have to do their checks, and if I don’t do it maybe, I get a fine or something like that.”

Daniel Bryan also revealed the hard fact he does not even receive the time to thank his opponent after every match.
Starting from Wrestlemania, he had to visit the gorilla and then the trainer’s room, straight. This norm will continue for the upcoming days. Doctors revise this checkup process, as per their need. It’s entirely new from their side, too.
