CM Punk has set the pro-wrestling industry on fire by showing up in an event on this past weekend. He appeared in an independent show hiding his face but it’s really hard these days not to reveal your identity as cameras can track you from every angle. Plus the fact that the returnee used his pendant move during the match indicated his comeback much before the media houses started to cover this incident.

He interrupted an ongoing match coming out as a masked man hitting a G.T.S on Daryck St. Holmes and help his opponent to win the match. Thereafter, an ROH Superstar confirmed that it was none other than CM Punk who found his way back into the pro-wrestling circuit. Now, additional details are available on the internet revealing more backstage details on this monumental return of the former WWE Champion.

As per reports of wrestlingINC.com, CM Punk appearing on the independent scene was not a surprise incident. Rather, the promotion was aware of the appearance much earlier. The source added that he was always going to be the man under the mask at MKE Wrestling’s “The Last Knight” event. Here’s more from the source on the former champion’s comeback,

“Wrestling Inc has learned that at one point the plan had been for Punk to actually take the mask off after hitting the GTS. That did not happen, obviously, and Punk left while masked after the match. We have also been told that Punk waited in his car outside the venue before making his appearance and left immediately afterward.”

As you can see, the source also added that CM Punk was waiting outside the venue to make the appearance. To provide evidence on this instance, sports reporter Jon Alba tweeted the given photo that showed the former Straight Edge leader spending times with people associated with MKE Wrestling promotion. All we can say, it was a pleasant surprise by all means for the pro-wrestling fans who wanted him to come back.

Also, veteran journalists like Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful and Robbie Fox of Barstool Sports reported this is not the first time that CM Punk has come out of retirement. He has been appearing as a masked character on the indie shows for quite a while now. His first such show-up featured at Sapp reported that Punk also appeared at a Freelance Wrestling show on December 4th, 2015, titled Raw Power. He managed Kikutaro in a match against Darin Corbin and Dick Justice.
