Roman Reigns returned to WWE Raw after four months in a standing ovation. He was dealing with a life-threatening disease, Leukemia that was about to keep him away from the scene for a long time. But he was back within the minimum amount of time that we have expected the least. It was one of those miraculous comebacks in the history of WWE.
Revealed: Roman Reigns comeback match at Fastlane
The significant part of this return on WWE Raw is that he is ready to be back in competition. Roman Reigns has not featured in any of the in-ring capacities for the past several months. Yet he is getting ready for a match at Wrestlemania. In fact, we expect him to see him even at the Fastlane pay-per-view on March 10th.
But did WWE have a clue prior to this episode of WWE Raw that their poster boy is ready to go? Probably, most of the creative team was not aware of the fact that he was indeed coming back to get into physical confrontations. Only the head honchos of the company did have the clue about it until he announced it publicly.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com has some insider scoops about this return. Plus he also revealed who the backstage officials were to know about Reigns getting freed from Leukemia. As per him, only the McMahons knew about the in-ring comeback. The others only knew that he was appearing to provide an update, (courtesy SportsKeeda.com)
“The Fightful report states that only Vince McMahon, Stephanie McMahon, Kevin Dunn, Michelle Wilson, and Triple H knew that Reigns was cancer-free only on Monday morning after Reigns was told by his doctors last week that he no longer had cancer. Reigns was scheduled to appear on RAW to give an update on his health.”
It is indeed good news that Roman Reigns is coming back to in-ring competition. Now the WWE creative team can consider him to appear in a match at Wrestlemania 35. But even prior to that, he might be ready to go in a match at Fastlane pay-per-view. He is likely to feature in a tag team match.
As seen on WWE Raw, he teamed up with Seth Rollins to save his buddy Dean Ambrose from a beatdown. The duo ganged up and shoved four heels off the ring in a valiant effort. Elias, Drew McIntyre, Bobby Lashley, and Baron Corbin are these four names. So it is most likely that WWE creative will arrange a match for him via this storyline.
