WWE programming is going through a lot of changes, as of right now. Fans were clearly unhappy with the quality of the contents for the better part of 2018 and let their disgust known to social media. So Vince McMahon decided to resurface on the weekly shows to address the situation. Overall, we have seen major changes in the program since then. This past week’s episode of WWE Raw was perhaps the best episode of 2019, till date.
With Wrestlemania season getting to its peak, we definitely expect major storylines to take off, going forward. This should make both WWE Raw and Smackdown look better in the weeks to follow. Plus, Vince McMahon himself took the initiative to make the program better. Reports say that the earlier contents did not make him happy, as well. So, The Boss took initiatives to make the overall programming better.
As hinted by Slice Wrestling, WWE products were unable to make Vince McMahon happy. As of late, the segments those aired make him feel ‘disgusted’. So he hired some of the veteran names from the pro-wrestling world to take care of the backstage scene. One of them is former WWE creative head, Bruce Prichard who is now back with the WWE after a long time.
Here’s more from wwfoldschool.com about the Vince McMahon situation,
“This led to Vince hiring Bruce Prichard, Jeff Jarrett, Shane Helms & Abyss as WWE creative team members/producers to help the WWE product. WWE officials are trying to make the product edgier and increase the TV viewership for both RAW & SmackDown as we head towards the biggest show of the year, WrestleMania 35.”
Rumors also suggest that Bruce Prichard was in charge of the contents those aired on this past week’s WWE Raw and Smackdown. We have seen far better contents that included several returns and swerves in-store that did give us a feel of older WWE programming. Fans did appreciate the effort pulled off by the writers and this should make Vince McMahon happy. Going forward, we want to see this compactness to be intact on both the weekly shows.
The head honchos might have also given freedom to go beyond the PG territory, for now. Thus we have seen a Twitter battle between Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch who used cuss words to each other. This is unthinkable at this moment when WWE is going through the PG era. We think it’s just a desperate effort to hype up the Wrestlemania season.
