WWE NXT Women’s Championship will be on the line during the post-Great American Bash episode of NXT 2.0 on the USA Network. During last night’s episode of NXT, it was announced that Mandy Rose will defend her NXT Women’s Championship against Roxanne Perez.
In the opening match of this week’s WWE NXT, Roxanne Perez and Cora Jade defeated Toxic Attraction (Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne) (with Mandy Rose) to capture the NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles. Afterward, Rose stated in a backstage promo that Roxanne Perez and Cora Jade got lucky in their match against Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne.

WWE NXT Women’s Champion also said that Dolin and Jane have done the mistake before but they corrected themselves, the very next week. She was referring to Dolin and Jayne losing their titles to Dakota Kai and Raquel Rodriguez at NXT Stand & Deliver but they got the titles back on the April 5 episode of NXT 2.0.
Rose proceeded to mention that Roxanne Perez won’t ever beat her for her title. But rather after the title match happens, next week, Perez will join her ‘little BFF’, Cora Jade as another female talent who can’t beat her in the past.

Mandy Rose to defend WWE NXT Women’s Title for the sixth time
Mandy Rose has become a prominent figure on WWE NXT’s 2.0 version. When she faces Perez, she’ll be undergoing the sixth title defense of her current reign since defeating Raquel Gonzalez (now SmackDown roster member Raquel Rodriguez) for the title at Halloween Havoc 2021, last October in a Triple Threat.
As for Rose’s opponent, Roxanne Perez signed with WWE this past March and won the WWE NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament 2022 edition to secure a Championship opportunity. Perez defeated Kiana James, Lash Legend, and Tiffany Stratton to secure the guaranteed title shot that she’s getting, next week.
Speaking of the July 12 episode, Apollo Crews will also face Giovanni Vinci in a singles contest that marks his first one-on-one matchup since 2016. During the June 7 episode of WWE NXT, Crews made his return to the brand after last competing on NXT programming, six years ago. Then in his first in-ring outing on NXT 2.0, Crews and Solo Sikoa defeated NXT North American Champion Carmelo Hayes and Grayson Waller in a tag team action, two weeks later.
