WWE NXT presented the latest episode where the semi-finale matchups for the Dusty Cup classic were hosted. NXT Women’s Title was on the line in the main event of the night where a championship summit also went down. Plus, a Raw Superstar made a surprise attendance on the show that took place at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. Check out the results,
– Creed Brothers defeated Grizzled Young Veterans to advance to the Finals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag 2022 Team Classic in the opening match of WWE NXT 2.0. The finish saw Drake of GYV getting neutralized via a suplex after which Brutus got the pinfall win over Gibson after a lariat.
WWE NXT Champion Accepts Challenge Thrown By Top WWE Raw Superstar
– Tiffany Stratton defeated Wendy Choo in a singles contest. Stratton performed a basement dropkick into the corner and then a springboard corkscrew splash from the second rope for the pin to win. Stratton took back Daddy’s Credit Card from Choo after the match.
– Pete Dunne defeated Draco Anthony in the next match of WWE NXT 2.0. During the match, Tony D’Angelo came out and tried to hit Pete with his Crowbar but it backfired as Pete unloaded on Draco with a snap German suplex followed by the Bitter End for the pin to win. Pete then stated that he wants their match at Vengeance Day to be a Weaponized Steel Cage Match. Tony accepted the stipulation to make the match, official.
Usos Set New Records With WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championships
– LA Knight defeated Graysaon Waller’s bodyguard Sanga. Waller exposed the turnbuckle as Sanga ran into it allowing LA to connect with a neckbreaker for the pin to win. After the match, Grayson Waller attacked LA, but LA took him out with the BFT finisher.
WWE NXT 2.0 Results (08/02/22): Championship summit
– Wade Barrett held a Championship Summit between WWE NXT Champion Bron Breakker and Santos Escobar. RAW Superstar Dolph Ziggler interrupted the session and said that said he works Tuesdays now. He listed his accolades which brings him to a Championship that he has never won during his career, which is the NXT Championship.
Tommaso Ciampa interrupted. Ciampa said Dolph as WWE NXT Champion is a hard pass since no one would be interested in seeing that. Dolph told Ciampa that NXT is his home. Legado Del Fantasma eventually caused a brawl in the segment as they attacked Bron and put him through a Table. Ciampa and Ziggler also got into a brawl and continued their way to a fight towards the backstage area.
– Sarray defeated Dakota Kai to win her second match since her return. After a Sunray Dropkick, Sarray delivered a Sleeper suplex for the pin to win.
– MSK defeated Malik Blade and Edris Enofe to advance to the Finals of the WWE NXT Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic 2022. MSK double-teamed on Enofe in the corner and delivered a big springboard Blockbuster for the pin to win. The final match of the tourney will thus feature Creed Brothers vs. MSK, next week.
– Mandy Rose (c) defeated Kay Lee Ray in the main event with some help from Gigi Dolin and Jacey Jane to retain WWE NXT Women’s Championship. KLR missed a top rope move as the tag champs distracted her from the ring.
Mandy delivered a running knee to the face for the win. After the match, The Toxic Attraction continued to attack KLR, but Io Shirai ran out to make the save. KLR and Shirai forced the heel faction away from the ring to end the show.
