A plethora of announcements was there on this week’s NXT regarding the upcoming NXT Halloween Havoc 2023 which will be a two-night special from the WWE Performance Center over the course of the next two weeks. Several gimmick matches were announced for Night One while the main event match to wrap things up on Night Two has also been declared and it will be contested for the NXT Championship.
In the main event of the October 17 episode of NXT, Carmelo Hayes was victorious in a triple threat to secure a title match opportunity against the current champion Ilja Dragunov at NXT Halloween Havoc 2023. This match was supposed to be a triple threat match, but then it became a four-way with Trick Williams’ addition. But Williams was attacked in the parking lot and he was rushed to the hospital.

In the end, Carmelo Hayes, Baron Corbin, and Dijak faced off in the main event match. The finish saw Corbin nailing Dijak with an End of Days but he never saw that Hayes was coming off the top rope to hit the Nothing But Net finisher to pull off the win. This set up Carmelo Hayes vs. Ilja Dragunov on Night 2 of WWE NXT Halloween Havoc 2023 for the NXT Title.

With that, Hayes is coming for the NXT Title that he lost to Ilja Dragunov at NXT No Mercy on September 30. Elsewhere, it will mark the second title defense of Ilja after he put his title on the line for the first time on the biggest episode of NXT. Overall, it will be the third encounter between Ilja and Hayes with the NXT Title hanging in the balance.
NXT Halloween Havoc 2023: Women’s Tag Team Titles to be defended
It appears that another championship match is in the making at NXT Halloween Havoc 2023 after Chelsea Green and Piper Niven showed up with their WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles during last night’s episode. They walked to the ring and distracted Tegan Nox which allowed Lyra Valkyria to pick up the win over her and gain some momentum heading into her title match opportunity against Becky Lynch.
After Nox vs. Valkyria was over, Chelsea Green and Piper Niven brawled with Natalya and Tegan Nox to the back as Valkyria cut a promo on Becky Lynch. It now seems like Nattie and Nox are gearing up to challenge Niven and Chelsea for their titles and that match will go down at NXT Halloween Havoc 2023 Night Two.
