This week’s WWE NXT marks the last episode of the current black and gold era since it will be airing with a revamp from next week onwards and in a live format. Both the men and women’s tag team titles were on the line on the show which also had a big announcement regarding the NXT Championship. Check out the results from the show that took place at the Capitol Wrestling Center in Orlando, Florida.
– Kay Lee Ray defeated Ember Moon in the first match of WWE NXT. Moon connected with a big sitdown powerbomb but Ray kicked out of the move. Ray got back to her feet and hit her Gory Bomb finisher to secure the win.
– Candice LeRae threw a Bachelorette Party for Indi Hartwell. LeRae donned spy gear as she wanted to keep her eyes on Dexter Lumis Bachelorette party, as well.
– Santos Escobar defeated Carmelo Hayes in a singles contest with all the Legado Del Fantasma faction members standing at ringside. Wilde and Mendoza distracted the referee, allowing Lopez to hit Hayes and slam him on the bottom of the ramp. The referee counted as Hayes rolled back to the ring at the count of 7. Escobar waited for him and delivered the Phantom Driver for the pin to win.

– Creed Brothers defeated Chuck Viola and Paxon Averil in their first match on WWE NXT. After dominating the matchup, Creed Brothers hit a Super Collider and more big power moves. Julius delivers a big double slam and a clothesline to get the win. The other members of the Diamond Mine faction joined the winners in the ring to stand tall.

– WWE NXT General Manager William Regal announced a Fatal-4-Way Match for next week to determine the new Number-one Contender for the NXT Championship with the lineup being, Pete Dunne vs. Tommaso Ciampa vs. LA Knight vs. Kyle O’Reilly
WWE NXT Results (07/09/21): Women’s tag champs retained
– Io Shirai and Zoey Stark (c) defeated Kacy Catanzaro and Kayden Carter to retain WWE NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships. Stark blocked Catanzaro with a big right hand and then hit a sliding kick. Stark with the big knee to the face after which Shirai tagged in and delivered her big moonsault on Catanzaro for the pin to retain. After the match, Mandy Rose, Gigi Dolin, and Jacey Jane attacked Kacy and Kayden on the ramp. Rose was wearing a protective face mask from last week’s attack by Sarray.
– Cameron Grimes throw a Bachelor Party for Dexter Lumis. The segment ended with a group hug as the commentators hyped up the big InDex wedding for next week.
– Mei Ying defeated Virginia Ferry in her in-ring debut. Ying delivered two cartwheel kicks on her opponent before grabbing her by the throat. She took her down to get the pinfall win.
– MSK (c) defeated Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch to retain WWE NXT Tag Team Championships in the main event. Carter broke a Crossface by sending Lorcan into Burch. Carter hit a superkick on Burch while Lee tagged in and hit the double team finisher to Lorcan from the corner for the pin to win. After the match, Pete Dunne and Ridge Holland turned on Oney and Danny and beat them down. Holland and Dunne stood tall as the fans booed him to send the show off-air.
