This week’s WWE NXT witnessed the debut of the Diamond Mine faction with a shocking return. The NXT Champion apparently received his next opponent who he chose to go for an attack. NXT Cruiserweight Champion and Adam Cole were also in action on the show that took place at the Capitol Wrestling Center in Orlando, Florida. Check out the results,
– WWE NXT opened with Adam Cole cutting a promo on how the returning Samoa Joe assaulted him last week. He then got into his scheduled match where he could pick his opponent. Cole said he won’t pick any opponent and no one can force him to wrestle. Carmelo Hayes interrupted and was able to change Cole’s mind.
Bobby Lashley Achieved Major Hell In A Cell Record On WWE Raw
– In the opening contest, Adam Cole defeated Carmelo Hayes. Cole went for the Panama Sunrise but ended up going into a Superkick. Cole somehow dropped Hayes and connected with the Panama Sunrise in the second attempt for the win.
– Johnny Gargano said everyone knows he can take out WWE NXT Champion Karrion Kross on his worst day. Hence he wanted a one-on-one match against Kross for the NXT Championship. Pete Dunne and Oney Lorcan interrupted as they’re not happy with the demand. The confrontation ended with Dunne snapping Austin Theory’s finger.

– Io Shirai and Zoey Stark defeated Aliyah and Jessi Kamea in a tag team match. Kamea and Aliyah went for a double suplex but Shirai landed on her feet. Stark got the tag as they leveled their opponents. Stark dropped Kamea with a big suplex and tagged back Shirai who went to the top rope with her signature moonsault to Kamea. Shirai covered for the pin to win. After the match, Dakota Kai, WWE NXT Women’s Champion Raquel Gonzalez, Ember Moon, and Shotzi Blackheart came out to brawl. Samoa Joe had to send a security team to separate them.
– MSK (c) vs. Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher for WWE NXT Tag Team Championship has been announced for NXT Great American Bash.
– Johnny Gargano and Austin Theory featured in a tag team match Pete Dunne and Oney Lorcan. Gargano dropped Lorcan with a Superkick and Gargano runs and delivered a suicide dive into a DDT on the floor to Dunne. Gargano came back to the ring with One Final Beat on Lorcan for the pinfall win. After the match, WWE NXT Champion Karrion Kross attacked Gargano with a big Forearm Shot.
WWE NXT Results (01/06/21): Frankie Monet in action
– Franky Monet defeated Elektra Lopez in the next match. Monet connected with a forearm before executing her Road to Valhalla finisher for the win.
– Top Dolla and Ashante Adonis defeated EverRise in a match after a backstage segment where Isaiah Swerve Scott intended to go after the WWE NXT North American Championship. In the match, Dolla leveled Martel with a Splash while Adonis hit a forearm on him. The duo then connected with a double powerbomb into an inverted neck breaker for the win.
– Mercedes Martinez was being interviewed when she got attacked by Xia Li and Boa Priestly. Jake Atlas made the save and it seems the four of them will face off next week in a Mixed Tag Team Match.
– Kyle O’Reilly defeated WWE NXT Cruiserweight Champion Kushida in the main event match. O’Reilly caught Kushida and delivered a big knee. Kushida dropped him with a right hand as they went down, again. The match finally ends as O’Reilly turned the Hoverboard Lock into a roll-up for the win.
After the match, Adam Cole attacked O’Reilly as they got into a brawl. Diamond Mine then made their debit and it comprises Roderick Strong, Tyler Rust, Hideki Suzuki, and Malcolm Bivens. They attacked Kushida and laid him out to close the show.
