TakeOver: NXT WarGames 2020 event has officially been confirmed. Unlike the previous year, this won’t be happening at the Survivor Series weekend but as a solo pay-per-view event from the black and yellow brand as it continues to make presence felt like a third brand of the WWE. The event will go down Sunday, December 6 on the WWE Network.

This week’s NXT episode featured a vignette from Shotzi Blackheart who warned Candice LeRae that she better start finding an army because they are heading into a war next month. This indicated there will be multiple NXT WarGames matches, again this year – one for the women’s division and one for the men’s division that will allow the NXT roster to steal the show.

WWE NXT WarGames 2020 Announced With Two Main Event Matches

Another match for NXT WarGames has been announced as the WWE NXT Champion Finn Balor and The Undisputed Era have returned to NXT. The ending of last night’s show saw Balor addressing the crowd when he was interrupted by The Kings of NXT – Pat McAfee, Pete Dunne, NXT Tag Team Champions Oney Lorcan, and Danny Burch.

McAfee bragged how The Kings have taken out The Undisputed Era, Breezango, Killian Dain, and Drake Maverick. He also threatened to make Balor “dead” like all the others if he didn’t hand over the NXT Title to the group. This is when the lights went out and The Undisputed Era – Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly, Bobby Fish, and Roderick Strong were back in the scene.

The Undisputed Era rushed into the ring and went into a fight against The Kings. The crowd went wild as Cole and McAfee, Dunne and O’Reilly, and the tag team champions were seen brawling Strong and Fish. As the show ended in chaos, the men’s NXT WarGames main event has been confirmed. It will feature The Kings vs. The Undisputed Era in eight-man action.

There’s no update on whether Balor has been cleared to wrestle at NXT WarGames and whether his NXT Title would be kept on the line on that night. He stayed away from the brawl for the most part of the show. As his jaw was broken in two places, his recovery time could be a bit longer and WWE never announced a timetable for his return from that injury. The usual recovery time for such an injury is around six weeks.
