WWE Raw witnessed the return of Hall of Famer Edge on this week’s episode that appeared an eventful night. He also referenced a recent AEW Dynamite segment during his promo exchange session with another veteran superstar The Miz.
WWE RAW from Long Island marked The Rated R Superstar’s return to WWE TV since being drafted to the red brand in the WWE Draft this past October. It was also his show-up since defeating Seth Rollins inside the ominous Hell in a Cell structure at WWE Crown Jewel on October 21.
Edge came to the ring and name-dropped AJ Styles, Kevin Owens, Finn Balor, WWE United States Champion Damian Priest, and WWE Champion Big E as his potential next opponents. He was then quickly interrupted by The Miz and his wife Maryse.
This was The Miz’s first appearance on WWE Raw since he was gone to participate in ABC’s Dancing With The Stars back in September while this was Maryse’s first appearance since mid-April following two post-Wrestlemania 37 outings.

Edge and Miz got involved in a back and forth promo exchange that’s been discussed on Twitter since the happening. Over last week’s Thanksgiving Eve edition of AEW Dynamite, CM Punk and MJF dragged the likes of The Miz, John Cena, Triple H, and Stephanie McMahon during their promos.
Then on WWE Raw, Edge referred to that AEW Dynamite segment when he remarked to The Miz, “You have people on other shows saying your name just to get a cheap reaction. You live rent-free in a lot of heads.” In return, Miz hit back saying that he couldn’t remember when Edge held a big championship, last while he was the WWE Champion, about six months ago.

Mixed tag team match planned from WWE Raw segment?
The Rater-R Superstar wanted to fight Miz, right there but the latter denied his pledge. The segment on WWE RAW ended with the two former WWE Champions teasing a fight at the WWE Day 1 pay-per-view on Saturday, January 1.
Since Maryse has returned on TV to give company to her husband, rumors suggest that Edge’s better half, WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix might also return to WWE Raw to set up a potential mixed tag team match. Beth currently works as a full-time WWE NXT commentator who retired in late 2012 but came out of retirement for the women’s tag team title match at WrestleMania 35.
