WWE Raw’s new era under the leadership of Triple H is in full force as we expect to receive yet another exciting night. WWE is promoting the show with a solid United States Title match on the card alongside which the process of crowning new Women’s Tag Team Champions will also begin. Plus, veteran Rey Mysterio will feature in a rematch on the show that takes place at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio.
In a unique way, a pair of matches were scheduled on last week’s WWE Raw to determine the next number-one to Bobby Lashley’s United States Championship. It began with two triple threat matches with the stipulation being that the winners will face each other in the final match. The winner will get a shot at the US Title.

AJ Styles vs. The Miz vs. Ali was the final match in which Styles won. Chad Gable vs. Tomasso Ciampa vs. Dolph Ziggler was the second match lineup which Ciampa won. The winners, Styles, and Ciampa, then competed in a singles contest in the third hour of WWE Raw to finalize who would go up against Lashley for a title match opportunity.
Via The Miz’s distractions, Ciampa could have earned the pinfall win after delivering his signature Fairytale Ending maneuver. After NXT Stand and Deliver this past April, Ciampa moved on to the main roster but it wasn’t until Triple H’s takeover that he picked up some momentums. We’d learn if it’s enough to pick up his first title win on the main roster.

WWE Raw Preview (08/08/22): Rey Mysterio vs. Finn Balor
A new match has been announced for this week’s WWE Raw where Rey Mysterio will be facing Finn Balor. This will be a rematch from a few weeks as the two will be facing each other for the second time on Monday Nights. The last time the two squared off in singles competition, Balor got the win. With that, the feud between The Mysterios and The Judgment Day will continue.
The Usos retained the Undisputed WWE Tag Team titles against Rey and Dominik Mysterio last week on WWE Raw main event. After the match, Judgment Day attacked them but the Summerslam returnee Edge came out to help the Mysterios. Rhea Ripley pushed Dominik in the way as he ended up digesting a spear instead of Balor. Dominik was injured with it and there should be fallouts from last week’s happening.
WWE Female Superstars To Get Larger Focus Under Triple H’s Leadership
In a big attraction on WWE Raw, a plan to crown new Women’s Tag Team Champions will come to fruition. During this past Friday night’s episode of SmackDown, Michael Cole announced that a tournament for the vacant titles will begin tonight which was further emphasized by WWE Official Adam Pearce. No matches, teams, or brackets were revealed.
WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles have been vacant since the former champions Sasha Banks and Naomi walked out of WWE Raw during the May 16 episode. They reportedly left their title belts on the desk of then-Executive Vice President of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis and thereby got suspended. Will Triple H’s leadership be enough to bring them back onboard? We’ll find out when WWE’s flagship show airs from Cleveland.
